Stephen Corby is the Founder and Managing Attorney at The Law Office of Stephen M. Corby. He grew up in Fort Mill, SC and has stayed in the Charlotte area throughout his educational and legal career. He attended college at the University of South Carolina – Upstate and then went on to graduate law school from the Charlotte School of Law.
Stephen has the necessary skills to help you take your legal matters from start to finish. He captained his law school’s trial team and led them to become one of the top four teams in the country. He has interned in both the Mecklenburg County Public Defender’s office and Union County District Attorney’s during his time in Charlotte. Stephen is very familiar with the legal community in this area and can help guide you through the complicated hurdles the law presents.
In Stephen’s free time he coaches the Charlotte School of Law’s Trial Teams where he teaches law students how to excel in the courtroom. He also volunteers at Safe Alliance, an organization that helps victims of domestic violence.

Joshua Lee is an Associate Attorney at The Law Office of Stephen M. Corby. He grew up in Honaker, VA and moved to Charlotte in 2013 to attend school. Upon graduation, he decided to stay in the Charlotte area and begin his legal career. He attended college at Emory & Henry College in Emory, VA and then went on to graduate law school from the Charlotte School of Law.
Joshua has all of the skills and knowledge to help you through the difficult legal troubles that may occur. He finished in the top 10% of his graduating class and is a member of the Phi Delta Phi honor’s society. Joshua interned for the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s office and worked for Ingalls Law, a small solo practice, during his legal education.
After work and during his down time, Joshua enjoys time with his fiancé and two dogs and cat. He is also an active member in the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, on the appointed list for Juvenile Defense, and a Community Manager for the Startup Grind Charlotte, a local entrepreneurial organization.
Valerie grew up in Dothan, Alabama and obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During her undergraduate studies, Valerie became interested in the study and practice of law, and the art of trial advocacy. She spent many hours in a courtroom practicing her love of trial work. Valerie served as captain of her undergraduate mock trial team and lead the team to win bids to attend and compete in two National Trial Competitions, where she earned "Best Attorney" awards at both the Regional and National levels. Valerie went on to attend the Charlotte School of Law, where she continued to hone her trial skills in serving as President of the school's Trial Advocacy Board, and continued to compete in trial competitions across the country. In her professional life, Valerie's litigation experience and skills have lead to recognition by prominent organizations in the legal community.
Valerie lives in the University area of Charlotte. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, running, working in the yard, knitting, and spending time with her three beautiful daughters. She also enjoys getting involved with her local community, including coaching a local middle school Mock Trial team, and giving softball pitching lessons.
She is a highly motivated, resourceful and creative attorney who will work with you to develop a case strategy that fits your individual needs and goals. Her approach to the practice of law is to define the problem, and find a solution. Through her experiences in the courtroom, she has developed the ability to evaluate a situation and react quickly, appropriately and zealously on her client’s behalf.
Valerie's years of hard work in the courtroom have paid off tremendously as evidenced by her positive results at trial, and as recognized by prestigious organizations across the country. In 2014, Valerie was selected by the National Trial Lawyers Association for membership as one of the 2014 Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and was recognized by the Global Directory of Who's Who among Women Attorneys. She was also recently recognized as one of NC's top 10 in Criminal Defense Client Satisfaction by the American Institute of Criminal Defense Law Attorneys
